My Plan · Where I Stand

Downtown Delivery vs. Downtown Announcements

Downtown does not need another announcement. It needs deadlines, owners and visible delivery.

The answer

Here’s the issue. Here’s my answer. Here’s what I’d do.

The issueWhat’s happening

Council just endorsed a 10-year, $48-million downtown plan (58 actions, including a "River District"). London's core office vacancy hit 31.5% in Q4 2025 — at that point the highest in Canada — but the newest data (Q2 2026) shows it's improved to 29.6%, London's biggest quarterly improvement of any Canadian market.

Where I standMy answer

Improving numbers are welcome. The test is whether the promised work gets done on a public timeline.

What I’d doWhat I would do

Keep one public downtown list: every approved action, whether it is funded, who owns it, the deadline and what happens next.
