My Plan · Where I Stand

The People Making the Big Calls Should Answer for Them

The people making major City decisions should answer publicly for whether deadlines, budgets and commitments were met.

The answer

Here’s the issue. Here’s my answer. Here’s what I’d do.

The issueWhat’s happening

When a major project is late or a public commitment is missed, residents should not have to guess who made the call or whether anyone reviewed what went wrong.

Where I standMy answer

I want the people making major City decisions to answer for the results: Was it on time? Was it on budget? Was the public promise kept? This is not about blaming frontline workers. It is about accountability at the level where the major decisions are made.

What I’d doWhat I would do

I’d push for a simple public record of major projects and commitments: what was promised, who owned the decision, what got done, what did not and what happens next.
