Ward 13 doesn’t need another link to a plan. Every downtown strategy should be tied to funding, timelines, enforcement, and public results.

The issue is not whether London has plans. The issue is whether those plans lead to visible street-level action, clear funding, public deadlines and regular updates.

Schelley Bisson is running for London City Council in Ward 13, where he has lived downtown for eleven years. He started working at 15 and has spent much of his adult life in hospitality, business ownership, senior management, operations and skilled work. He has also worked with local and provincial governments.
Across those roles he has been responsible for people, budgets, schedules, customers, deadlines and the day-to-day decisions that determine whether an organization actually works. His experience taught him that a title matters less than whether somebody is prepared to show up, make a decision, fix what is not working and own the result.
He has also been fortunate to travel and spend time with people from very different cultures, faiths, professions and economic circumstances. That has made him less interested in labels and more interested in listening carefully to how different people experience the same city. His personal faith informs an emphasis on dignity, responsibility and respect, without expecting others to share his beliefs.
He understands that Council is not a private business. Public decisions involve law, budgets, public process, competing interests and collective votes. His approach is to do the homework, understand who has authority, make the decision when one is required and report back afterward.
