ASK SHMUEL FARHI

A public conversation about London’s next four years.

Over the course of this campaign, I have spoken with thousands of residents and hundreds of businesses. Those conversations have covered public safety, housing, downtown vacancies, development, jobs, investment, taxes and a question that reaches across all of them: where should London go over the next four years?

Recently, while I was downtown, I saw Shmuel Farhi. I approached him, introduced myself as Schelley Bisson, a candidate for Ward 13, and what began as a brief introduction became a much longer conversation about London and its future.

During that conversation, I asked Mr. Farhi whether he would be willing to sit down for a recorded interview and answer 10 substantive questions about London — including where he believes the city should be four years from now, what needs to change, and what role he sees for property owners, investors and development in that future.

Why the public chooses

The questions should not all come from me.

Londoners live with these decisions every day. Residents, business owners, tenants, workers and people who use downtown may have questions I have not thought of. So I started with 20 questions and opened the choice to the community.
