Accessibility

This site should work for everyone

A campaign website is only useful if people can read it, navigate it and reach the information they need. BISSON13 is built with accessibility in mind, and I want to know when something is not working.

What we have built in

Accessibility is part of the site, not an afterthought.

Keyboard navigation

Interactive controls are designed to be reachable by keyboard, with visible focus states and logical navigation order.

Readable text and contrast

The site uses responsive type, strong contrast and mobile reading floors so important voter-facing copy stays readable on smaller screens.

Reduced motion support

Where motion is used, the site respects reduced-motion preferences so information does not depend on animation.

Clear structure

Pages use headings, landmarks, labels and direct links so people can move through the site without having to decode the layout.

Forms with labels and status messages

Volunteer, sign, update and contact forms use explicit labels, validation messages and confirmation states.

Plain-language pathways

The 2-minute version, issue pages, Where I Stand and voting information are designed to give the answer first and let readers go deeper if they choose.

If something is difficult to use, tell me.

If you run into a barrier on this website, tell the campaign what page you were on and what happened. I would rather fix the problem than assume the site works for everyone.

Report an accessibility problem

This statement describes the campaign site’s accessibility approach. It is not a claim that every page or third-party service is perfectly conformant in every browser or assistive-technology combination. External websites linked from BISSON13 have their own accessibility practices.

For information about how the campaign handles personal information, see the Privacy Policy.
